MissionThe mission of Tom’s Ride to Aid Cancer Survivors is to raise money for The Tom Grunske Family Support Fund. This Fund was created in 2009 by myself, Joseph Grunske; my sister-in-law, Laurie Grunske-McMorrow; and Dr. Harold Wanebo, one of Tom’s doctors. One hundred percent of The Tom Grunske Family Support Fund will be used to provide financial aid to cancer survivors who suddenly find that, even with insurance, treatment requires out-of-pocket expenses and often going for long stretches out of work. Those of us participating in Tom’s Ride pay for expenses out of our own pockets. Additionally, it is our mission to raise awareness of the need for cancer treatment that is specific to an individual’s need, as well as encourage others to get screened for colon cancer. We will accomplish these goals by riding our motorcycles on a three-day trip through New England and the surrounding area and appealing to those with whom we come into contact, as well as collecting donations from friends, family and coworkers. To read more about why we’re doing this, please read my story. |
